Entertainer founder joins board of Dubai’s Sunset Hospitality Sunset

Sunset Hospitality Group, a Dubai-based hospitality investment and management company, has announced that Donna Benton has joined its board of directors.

A prominent figure in the UAE’s business sector, Benton is the founder of the Entertainer, created in 2001 to make Dubai’s dining and leisure venues more affordable and attract customers to world-class outlets by offering a “buy one get one free” concept. It has enjoyed global success and in 2013 launched its mobile app.

“Her expertise in the market, including her deep knowledge of strategic planning and prioritization of company goals and objectives, will help Sunset Hospitality Group on our journey to become a leading hospitality company in the region and across the globe,” he added.

Benton is familiar with Sunset’s dining concepts, having collaborated in the past with Black Tap, Luigia Ristorante, Ammos and Joe’s Backyard being part of the Entertainer concept.

Benton said: “I’m incredibly excited to join Sunset Hospitality Group and become an integral part of its diverse portfolio. Over the years I’ve watched the company grow both in profitability and portfolio size, and I’ve been highly impressed with its direction, vision and management.”

Benton is involved in various business ventures. In 2016, she opened Chloe’s Beauty, Hair & Nails, a ladies-only salon with a focus on quality, affordability and convenience. She is also an active partner in Dawson Sports, a UAE-based provider of sports equipment and apparel to schools, nurseries and clubs, which has the distribution rights to Suunto sports watches in the GCC.
